New York State Canal System Poster

To celebrate the bicentennial of the Erie Canal, I created this map poster of the New York State Canal system as a personal project. The objective is to showcase the extent of the canal system with information about the locks, and history of the system. This project combines both my personal map style, and the branding style of the New York State Canal System. This poster was also designed so consumers can purchase it, so care was taken to ensure the type in the map is readable (coming soon).

Inspiration for this project comes from an 1980s map of the New York State Canal System Map. My inspiration on this project includes aspects from the map, as well as new items that have occurred since the original map was made.

This project was not commissioned, sponsored, or affiliated by the New York State Canal Corporation or it’s subsidiaries.
